Why was the Honda e discontinued?
Discontinuation. In late 2023, Honda announced production of the e would cease in January 2024, with no plans for a second generation model. This was due to slow sales of the e, with approximately 12,500 units being sold globally in a period of 3 years. Verdict. There are few more interesting and exciting cars on sale than the Honda e. It looks great, is excellent fun to drive and is the perfect city runabout. If you can live with the limited range, you won’t be disappointed – we just hope we see more of this from Honda.Instead, the mega-company has mentioned it will move towards electric SUVs as the market shifts. In recent years, the need for electric SUVs has skyrocketed, partly to blame for the Honda E failure. People want to have more space in their cars for people, items, pets, and legroom, which the E couldn’t provide.
What is the Honda e?

Is the Honda e EV any good?
The Honda e is great to drive, it’s well designed, and the innovative infotainment system works effectively; as the brand’s first production EV, it’s an amazingly successful effort. Honda models have high reliability ratings and are also known for their low maintenance costs compared to average brands, which helps with their great reputation.
