Is the 2022 Ford Lightning a good truck?
The Ford Lightning lives up to its name when it comes to performance. It comes standard with dual motors and all-wheel drive. Unfortunately, our truck was the standard battery version, giving us less range and power. The Electric motors provide 452 horsepower and 775 pound-feet of torque. The Lightning offers an estimated range of 230 miles with the standard battery and up to 320 miles with the extended-range battery. Over many years, some decline in range is expected: After 5 years, many EVs retain 80–90% of original battery capacity. After 10 years, capacity may decline to 70–80%, depending on use. Expected lifespan: Most EV batteries, including those in the Lightning, are expected to last 8–15 years or around 150,000 to 200,000 miles, depending on driving habits and conditions.
