Is Citroen Ami a good car?
OK, so the Ami is tiny, noisy, impractical, slow, and won’t actually go very far. Which makes it sound like the worst car ever. And it is, if you compare it to a similarly-priced second hand small hatchback, but that’s not the point. The Ami is designed specifically for short hops, around town, using minimal resources. While it is completely street legal, Citroen designed the Ami almost exclusively for jaunts around town. The Citroen E-C4 is a more traditional electric crossover, boasting a 50-kilowatt-hour battery pack with 163 hp (120 kilowatts) and a top speed of 93 miles per hour (150 kmh). It’s hard to believe it has already been four years since Citroën launched the Ami. While some may have initially dismissed the electric quadricycle as a gimmick, this small urban vehicle has proven popular, with around 65,000 already sold.
Can a 14 year old drive a Citroen Ami?
In fact, the Ami is not even a car. It is a quadricycle. This means a 16-year-old with a full AM moped licence can drive it on UK roads. The Citroen Ami can be driven with a ‘Category AM’ driving licence that covers a moped, which allows the licence holder to drive two-wheeled or three-wheeled vehicles with a maximum speed of 28mph.
