Is Mercedes-Benz coming back to Motability?
Disabled people who have a car through the Motability scheme will no longer be allowed premium vehicles such as BMWs and Mercedes. Motability said the change would be made with immediate effect, as it announced a new ambition for half of the cars it leases to be British-built by 2035. Some of the car manufacturers who do not currently participate in the Motability Scheme include Land Rover, Jaguar, Isuzu and the electric carmaker Tesla.

However, since December 2023, Motability no longer allows customers to purchase their leased vehicles directly.The new cars which are obtained through the Motability scheme are leased for three years before returning to the market as used cars.
What cars are removed from Motability 2025?
From 25th November 2025, luxury cars from brands including BMW, Audi, Alfa Romeo, Lexus and Mercedes will no longer be available, with immediate effect. Coupes and convertibles from any manufacturer have also been removed from the charity’s price list. You may have noticed that we’ve taken cars from brands such as Alfa Romeo, Audi, BMW, Lexus and Mercedes-Benz off the price list. We’ve also removed all coupe and convertible cars from other manufacturers. These models tend to be higher-cost vehicles that sit outside the Scheme’s focus on essential, practical mobility.
