Can I use Shell Recharge without an app?
There are four ways to start a charge on a Shell Recharge unit. The easiest way is to tap your contactless payment card on the terminal. You can also pay by Apple Pay, and Google Pay if you want to use your smartphone or smart watch. You can also start a charge via the Shell Recharge app or with a Shell Recharge card. Download the Shell Recharge App to find public charge points nearby, see real-time availability, price and charge session history and start a charge using the app.
Is the Shell app free?
The Shell App is completely free and there are no costs for using the service. The app requires an internet connection, so please check that your network provider won’t charge you for the mobile data used, or use our free Wi-Fi available at many of our Shell Service stations. And it’s quick and easy to pay using the app or your free Shell Recharge card – with no subscription necessary.
