What does Electrify America do?
More chargers, more freedom. Since 2016, Electrify America has made EV charging more accessible. Now, we’re powering your EV journey as the largest open Hyper-Fast charging network in the U. S. You can charge a Tesla at Electrify America charging stations but you will need to use an adapter as Tesla vehicles are equipped with their own proprietary charging port.
Is Electrify America only for Tesla?
If You Drive a Non-Tesla EV currently rely on Electrify America and similar networks. Automaker‑supplied adapters may unlock Superchargers on some models. Newer NACS‑equipped models will plug straight into Tesla Superchargers and, increasingly, NACS cables at EA sites. You can charge your BMW EV at Tesla Superchargers equipped with a Magic Dock. In addition, once your vehicle receives the required Remote Software Upgrade (RSU), you can also use the BMW-approved Lectron Vortex Plus DC adapter at NACS Partner Tesla Supercharger stations.The Lectron Vortex Plus DC adapter is BMW’s approved NACS DC adapter. It is a portable device that allows your BMW’s CCS charging port to connect with compatible NACS charging stations, including Tesla Superchargers.If your Tesla vehicle has free Supercharging, you can charge at Supercharger sites owned by Tesla at no cost. If you charge your Tesla vehicle at a Supercharger site not owned by Tesla, you can view the price for each site before you begin your charging session.
